A Comparison of Line Detectors for Image Background Modelling
نویسندگان
چکیده
In the context of multimedia data analysis, it is often necessary to understand what happens in a scene, which can rely on detecting and tracking the different moving objects and by comparing their positions at a given time with their environment. In order to model the environment or the scene background, we consider straight lines as appropriate features. In this paper, we compare some classical line detection approaches with two low cost contributed techniques, particularly relevant for real time scene analysis. The comparison methodology involves the definition of some evalutation measures. Results obtained show that a contributed method, called the connection approach, gives the best results.

Quality comparison of direct digital panoramic radiography and computed radiography panoramic
BACKGROUND AND AIM: Digital panoramic X-ray images can be captured using photostimulable phosphors or solid-state detectors (i.e. charge-coupled devices and Flat-Panels). The first category is defined as computed radiography (CR) or semi-direct radiography. The second technology that uses solid-state detectors is known as direct digital radiography (DDR). Both of these technologies have their o...
متن کاملFast System Matrix Calculation in CT Iterative Reconstruction
Introduction: Iterative reconstruction techniques provide better image quality and have the potential for reconstructions with lower imaging dose than classical methods in computed tomography (CT). However, the computational speed is major concern for these iterative techniques. The system matrix calculation during the forward- and back projection is one of the most time- cons...
متن کاملContours Extraction Using Line Detection and Zernike Moment
Most of the contour detection methods suffers from some drawbacks such as noise, occlusion of objects, shifting, scaling and rotation of objects in image which they suppress the recognition accuracy. To solve the problem, this paper utilizes Zernike Moment (ZM) and Pseudo Zernike Moment (PZM) to extract object contour features in all situations such as rotation, scaling and shifting of object i...
متن کاملPerformance Evaluation of Local Detectors in the Presence of Noise for Multi-Sensor Remote Sensing Image Matching
Automatic, efficient, accurate, and stable image matching is one of the most critical issues in remote sensing, photogrammetry, and machine vision. In recent decades, various algorithms have been proposed based on the feature-based framework, which concentrates on detecting and describing local features. Understanding the characteristics of different matching algorithms in various applications ...

The usage of digital radiology systems with insufficient quality control of digital image detectors can efface inherent superiorities of digital systems in comparison with analogue radiology systems and even makes an increased level of patients’ radiation doses. Modulation transfer function (MTF) is one of the most important parameters related to image quality and digital detectors efficiency. ...
